A Mother's Baby

Happy Birthday 8-11-09

A mother’s baby is a very sweet thing
Last of her own lullabies she will sing
In her heart, as a child, he will always stay
With no new baby to pull her away.

She cuddles and holds him until he’s too old.
She spoils a bit and rarely will scold.
You’d think he’d be awful, expecting his way
And thoughtless of others he meets each day.

Yet watching him grow has been quite a surprise
Her baby grows up right before her eyes.
His gentle concern for others all around
His inherent wisdom keeping him ground.

Humble and patient, still he raises the bar
He sets his sights high, and strides out a far.
He bolsters his strength when he feels beaten down
Honest and open, his wisdom renown.

Friends seek his counsel and his comfort as well
A spirit about him that casts a spell.
He chooses a mission to far distant lands.
People of Canada’s fate in his hands

His influence leaving a spark that burns bright
Peoples lives change from the darkness of night;
Into the bright sunlight of hope, faith and truth;
Sparked by his joy and the humor of youth.

I still want to hold him and cuddle him near
Dry away teardrops and drive away fear
As Samuel was offered to God, for to mold,
This mother is waiting, her baby to hold.

Our 9th anniversary

Having your anniversary fall on New Years makes every New Years eve pretty special in our book. This year we went again to the Anniversary Inn. This time we took the Rose Garden Sweet. It was lovely.

Waterfall hot tub, roses everywhere, and pretty gazebo laced with flowers, and a BIG screen TV. We had a nice relaxing time, and rang in he new year and our 9th year in style!

We have stayed at the Anniversary Inn many times. Our first experience was on our Honeymoon where we tried the Swiss Family Robinson Sweet, and the 49'ers cabin. A few Years ago our sweet Awnalisa gave us a nights stay for Christmas and we used it for Valentines and stayed in he Jungle room. Each room has a cute theme and they spare NO expense. We look forward to our next visit!

Then we went to Vegas to enjoy a little warmer weather and see the attractions for 4-5 days. Nothing funner than to play just about anywhere with my sweetie!

Lochlan & Ethan got reaquainted. They are 2 weeks apart but live far apart!



We missed our missionarys, but had a wonderful visit with them on Christmas day!

Ethan came over to visit and was mesmerized by the fish tank. If you listen closely you can hear him talking to them!

Dinner with Elder Hill (one of Drew's companions)

Elder David Hill was Drew's companion in Edmonton. He just came home form his mission and came o dinner last Sunday at our house. Brandon, Josh, Calley & Ethan and Josiah & Sharla & girls came over too.

It was a lot of fun and he told us some experiences he and Drew had on their missions.

We also celebrated Josiah's birthday. 29 years old. We had Turtle pie (Josiah's favorite).

December 2008 Ethan's sees Santa

Ethan came to our ward Chrsitmas party (with his parents) and he sat on Santa's lap. He was darling and so brave and happy!

Christmas is so fun with Grandkids!
